Important Information on Health Alliance

On February 25, 2025, Health Alliance announced they would be closing their commercial insurance activities at the close of calendar year 2025. When the Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) learned of this exit during the announcement by Health Alliance, CMS collaborated with Health Alliance to determine the best step forward for our members to ensure a smooth transition. As a result, the decision was made that CMS will terminate its relationship with Health Alliance effective July 1, 2025. This decision does affect you as a current Health Alliance enrollee.

What Does This Mean for You

• Your current coverage will remain in effect until June 30, 2025. There is nothing you need to do right now.
• During open enrollment you MUST log into MyBenefits to elect a new health plan or opt out of the State of Illinois coverage. The annual Benefit Choice open enrollment period will be May 1, 2025 – June 2, 2025.
• If you have never logged into MyBenefits, please register so that you are prepared when open enrollment begins.
• Review the Frequently Asked Questions.
• Make sure to review your Benefit Choice materials that you will be mailed in April.
• If you have questions, make sure to attend either one of the in-person or virtual Benefit Choice Member Fairs. These fairs will take place in May. More details about the dates and locations are forthcoming. Representatives for the available health plans will attend the in-person meetings to answer any questions or check the status of your current providers.
